Update: Seller sent new product. It did arrive in my mailbox in the heat and was melted but put in the refrigerator, color and taste is normal on first bar I opened.I'm the kind of choco-holic that makes his own all natural chocolate, drinks homemade chocolate every week and spends way too much time and money on chocolate of all kinds. I'm one of you :) Godiva like Lindt or even Dove, have made a name for themselves selling high priced treats that are SUPPOSED to be of the finest ingredients you can find in the world bar none. So why then, do we see "Natural Flavoring", which at the end of the day, is simply an expensive chemical in this bar of chocolate that leaves a chemical aftertaste in your mouth? I see Teavana doing the same thing with their super high end teas. If it's so darn delicious, pray tell why do you add "natural flavoring" to an already natural tea??? Is it because, *GASP* it doesn't taste good by itself in it's natural state? Why do natural teas you harvest and dry yourself for pennies taste s much better? This solid milk chocolate tastes like a chemical flavoring. Not like smooth natural milk chocolate. Have you ever had cheap seasonal chocolate (think the tiny no name brand bunny's or santas) that taste like brown wax which resembles chocolate? You know that artificial chocolatey flavor that lingers in your mouth after you regretfully indulge in one? Yea GODIVA now tastes like that. But that's what happens when you're feeding millions, supplying for the masses, answering to the big business board members etc... you end up with sub par chocolate in absolutely beautiful wrappers. Godiva, you spent so much on marketing that you forgot about the chocolate! Truth be told (and so I don't sound like work for their competitor) most of the big chocolate houses do the same thing and it's a shame. Chocolate is, to me, a spiritual, sensual and delicious part of my life. It saddens me to see them go this way. My suggestion is find a smaller batched company made by artisans who use only pure ingredients. Thanks to the FDA we no longer can trust the word "natural" for as my pediatrician told me, new regulations have allowed the word "natural" to basically mean; "Made on the planet earth". Any artisan product like this that requires additive flavoring means that by itself, it isn't good enough which means it ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH.The flavor is awesome this time ! We got a not so good batch sent to us last month! The company since has made good on replacing there product ! Thanks Choko cusstomer support!
