I had my first Papas Opera Creme Easter egg in 1960. A group in our school was selling them as a fundraiser. Well let me tell you - that candy was selling like crazy....so from 1960 to 1964 we were all waiting for the chance to bite into that opera creme candy. The texture of the filling is thick and rich, the flavor is beyond good, the dark chocolate covering sets off the delicious sweetness of the whole confection. Years passed and my sister and I would occasionally think about those Easter eggs but hadn’t seen them anywhere for years. One day as I was looking on Amazon - there they were - the Papas eggs from long ago. I could taste them justremembering. This Easter season I think I ordered at least 6 or 7 packages and brought back memories of our high school days. They tasted just as we remembered - maybe even better! I even think the packaging on the candy was the same French Opera blue! What an unexpected surprise this Easter. Next year I will be placing my order as will others who remember with fondness.
